Church School
Virtual Church School Lessons: We offer online lessons that can be watched from home.
You can find them here.
Matthew 19:14: Jesus said “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these”.
Welcome!
We love having the opportunity to minister to children and youth! We strive for inter-generational worship where children, parents and teachers participate and learn together.
Our Church School runs from September through June. During July and August we offer quiet activities and books for children to use during the worship service. Our Nursery is available throughout the summer.
Church School Classes:
Children and youth participate in Sunday morning worship service, and then, following the Time with Young Worshippers, proceed to their classes.
Our supervised Nursery provides a cozy and engaging environment where children from newborn to age five can relax and play during the worship service. The Nursery contains a variety of toys and games for youngsters, as well as music, colouring and activity tables, and craft-making
Our Sunday School class offers accessible, scripture-based learning to children aged six to twelve. Children in this class begin their time together with an engaging Christian pop song, and then settle down to view a prepared video that breaks down the lessons found in a selected scripture, usually taken from that week’s lectionary reading (these videos are available on this website). Narration in the video is highlighted by corresponding images that help make the scriptures relevant and accessible to children in this age group. The video is followed by class discussion and then a craft and activity time.
Our Youth Class for ages thirteen and up is the most recent addition to our Children’s Ministry program. The presence of our new associate minister, Ema Prince, has allowed us to move our youth into a separate class where they can investigate and discuss more challenging scriptural topics among their peers.
Other Activities for Children and Youth
Our church also offers additional activities for our young worshippers.
Participation in worship services (reading, lighting the Christ Candle and more)
Children and Youth choirs
Special get togethers with games, activities and outings
Opportunities to participate in the Ascent Program, which consists of regional weekend-long retreats for junior and senior high school students through the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec
And more!
