On Saturday, March 3 at 7:00pm, Aella Choir will present a concert entitled “Stories” at First Baptist Church (140 Laurier Ave. W). Aella will present moving stories of love, loss, and diaspora in the Canadian arctic, Newfoundland, Finland, and Ireland. In addition, the choir is thrilled to be giving the premiere performance of Matthew C. Lane’s ‘When I was a Glacier’, a poem by Emily Skillings set to music for treble voices, piano, and tubular bells. Come out on March 3 to experience the haunting tale of a selchie (seal person) and his changeling son from the Orkneys, an absurd French Canadian nursery song, and music inspired by classic stories such as Alice in Wonderland and Ulysses. Featuring Shawn Potter on piano.
