Pianist Mark Damisch

Pianist Mark Damisch

American concert pianist and Chicago attorney Mark Damisch will play a fundraising concert at First Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 30 at 7 p.m. A Chicago native, Mr. Damisch studied and performed piano and organ in his youth, then returned to the concert stage in 2000 after a 19-year hiatus. Today, he continues his mission of performing for charitable causes worldwide. His concerts have taken him to more than 40 countries and he has raised over $1 million for local and national organizations.

Mr. Damisch’s concert will benefit our Refugee Support Fund with a freewill offering in lieu of tickets. His touring repertoire for 2016 includes music by Debussy, Villa-Lobos, Satie, Copland, Dello Joio and Mussorgsky.

Mr. Damisch contacted us earlier this year to inquire about including our church on his present tour. We are very fortunate to have Mr. Damisch come and play for us, and we hope that many of our congregation and other members of the public will be able to attend this fundraising concert.
